Trasę promującą album „21st Century Breakwdown” można uznać za jedną z ciekawszych w karierze Green Day’a. Nie dość, że zespół odwiedził pięć kontynentów, to jeszcze setlisty zawierały utwory z całej ich kariery. Taki sam klimat ma album koncertowy „Awesome as Fuck”. Oficjalnie jest to płyta CD z „bonusowym” DVD, ale wszyscy traktują to jako jedno, podwójne wydawnictwo. Jednak nie będziemy roztrząsać technicznych spraw dotyczących albumu, przynajmniej w tej części. Skupmy się za to na każdym dysku z osobna.

Płyta CD dostarcza fanom siedemnastu koncertowych nagrań, zarejestrowanych podczas całej trasy. Wszystko to zostało ładnie połączone ze sobą, dzięki czemu mamy uczucie, jakby był to jeden koncert. Poza sztampowymi dla tejże trasy „21st Century Breakdown”, „Know Your Enemy” czy „21 Guns” dostajemy też swoiste Green Day’owe evergreeny, jak „Going to Pasalaqua” czy „Good Riddance”.  Poza najbardziej znanymi piosenkami zespół uraczył fanów koncertową wersją utworu „J.A.R.” oraz nigdy dotąd niepublikowaną piosenką „Cigarettes and Valentines”. Utwór ten pochodzi z albumu o tym samym tytule, który nigdy nie ujrzał światła dziennego z powodu kradzieży taśm.

Nie tylko płyta CD przyniosła niespodzianki. Po obejrzeniu „Bullet In A Bible” fani spodziewali się kolejnego DVD zawierającego nagrania z koncertu przeplatane wywiadami z zespołem. Tym razem dostaliśmy jednak sam koncert, bez żadnych zdjęć zza kulis czy zabawnych cytatów. Przepraszam, zapomniałam o „Oh yeah!” Tre’a. Jakie są konsekwencje takiej a innej zawartości płyty DVD? Siedemnaście utworów zarejestrowanych w  Saitama Super Arena w Japonii 23 i 24 stycznia 2010 roku. Podobnie jak na płycie CD mamy do czynienia z przekrojem przez całą twórczość zespołu z naciskiem na utwory z „21st Century Breakdown”.  DVD także nie zawiodło fanów. Po raz pierwszy dostajemy od zespołu perfekcyjne nagranie video, gdzie śpiewa Mike Dirnt (czepialskim pragnę przypomnieć, że The Network nie ma nic wspólnego z Green Day’em). Na dysku znajdziemy dwie niespodzianki. Pierwszą na pewno jest „My Generation”, a drugą bonusowy teledysk do „Cigarettes and Valentines”.  Bonus do bonusu? No tak, w końcu mówimy o Green Day’u.

Istotną kwestią jest też oprawa graficzna. Okładka nie została przyjęta zbyt entuzjastycznie, przynajmniej przez część fanów. Powody? Róż. Niestety kolor ten nie cieszy się zbytnią popularnością, głównie wśród polskich Idiotów. Dodatkowo dość często jest krytykowane zdjęcie na okładce, na którym to ciężko rozróżnić członków zespołu. Rekompensuje nam to książeczka zawierająca zdjęcia z trasy. Jest też pozytywny aspekt, a mianowicie różowy króliczek. Drunk Buny towarzyszy zespołowi od dawna, zatem należą mu się takie sama prawa jak ówczesnej „Big Three”, czyli Jasonowi White’owi, Jasonowi Freese’owi i Jeffowi Mattice.
 
Album był promowany tylko jednym wydawnictwem, mianowicie „Cigarettes and Valentines”. Trzeba przyznać, że forma tego promo jest jednak szczególna.
